Whisky Journeys does not attempt to evaluate or make subjective assessments of individual whiskies but cooperates with those whose expertise in tasting and describing the products is already widely established. One such guru is John Lamond and we refer from time to time to the latest (fourth) edition of his "Malt Whisky File" in our own product descriptions. This is an essential part of one's equipment on any Whisky Journey and so we strongly urge you to order a copy now to put in your hand luggage! John will inscribe your copy if you indicate your wish for that when ordering. He is a Master of Malt and a past President of Scotland's Institute of Wines and Spirits. His fellow author is Robin Tucek, a noted industry expert. This book, in 288 pages, provides tasting notes on all the malt whiskies from Scotland plus some other less well known whiskies from farther afield. There is a unique and useful rating system covering the sweetness and peatiness of each malt. It has more serious tasting notes and pertinent information than any comparable guide. Don't dram without it!
