Port Dundas is used in world famous brands, such as Johnnie Walker, Haig and White Horse. It is bottled occasionally as a single grain by independent bottlers and this expression was distilled in 1973 and matured for 36 years in a sherry cask before bottling in 2009 at an alcoholic strength of 54.1%. This is from Duncan Taylor's Rare Auld collection of Single Grain Scotch whiskies bottled at cask strength and in its natural form with no chill filtering or colourings of any kind. Each full size bottle is individually identified with information detailing the distillery and region of origin, date distilled, cask number, cask strength, date bottled and individual bottle number. Nose: Vanilla, spicy with a hint of wood and sherry. Palate: Lightly sherried with a taste of the cask expected with age. Finish: Another big grain with a softer finish. A free download of the chapter on Port Dundas Distillery is available when buying this whisky.
